Get paid to walk, ‘Free’ recipe kits, 42p SIM card, free Colgate, £5 off Lidl, 250 Nectar points, £5 off baby items, £10 app bonus
Hey there! I’m writing this week’s newsletter to you from a very cold Birmingham!
I checked into my hotel a few hours ago and they left the window open and it is friggin’ freezing. As soon as I hit send on this newsletter, I’m running straight to Nando’s for some heat! 🌶️
Now I’ve mentioned that… I actually think I have a Red reward on my Nando’s card (woohoo!), so it’ll be a nice cheap dinner and I’ll pay for the remaining balance on a gift card to get cashback (double woohoo!).
I’ll buy the gift card on the JamDoughnut app (I have a guide to using JamDoughnut here) as it’s 7.1% cashback, so I’m basically saving 7.1% on my bill.
Those small every day savings with cashback really do add up!
Got a few freebies for you today including recipe kits, toothpaste, app bonuses and more. I’m conscious it’s January and we’re all feeling the pinch so I’ve been doing my best to pack the newsletters with as many freebies and money making tips as I can for you. 💸
Let’s get stuck into the deals…
💰 Get Paid To Walk
You can get paid to walk. Yup, you read that right!
Most people don’t know this, but there’s a bunch of free apps that will literally pay you to walk! So if you’re running errands, aiming for 10K steps or walking your dog, you could be earning money or gift cards for this.
I’ve just finished writing a guide about the walking apps I recommend on my website which you can check out below.
My personal favourite one is Biscuit - I’ve earned over £200 in vouchers from using it!
💭 Guess the Riddle
I’m a mystery, but I’ve given you the clues to solve me. You see me now. What am I?
The answer is at the end of this newsletter.
📱 Lebara 42p Sim Card with 50GB Data
You can get a SIM card for 42p per month for 8 months… YES only 42p!! This offer is from Lebara, it’s available for new customers and you should be able to port your existing mobile number over.
So for 42p, you’ll get all of these monthly allowances:
50GB 4G and 5G data
Unlimited UK minutes
Unlimited UK texts
100 international minutes from the UK to over 50 countries
Roaming at no extra cost in EU, India and China
The best part is, it’s a 30 day rolling contract so you’re not tied in. Once you’re reach the end of your 8 months, your plan will increase to £9.90 per month (which is still a great price!) or you can switch to another network.
The Lebara network runs off Vodafone so you should have good coverage. I was with Lebara about 2 years ago (they had a 1p/month deal back then!!) and I did notice the internet was slightly slower than my previous network, but you just can’t complain with that price!
⭐️ Free Nectar Points
If you shopped at Sainsbury’s in 2024 and scanned your Nectar card, check the Nectar app for their version of Spotify Wrapped - “Your 2024 basket revealed” to hopefully get some free points!
1. Open the Nectar app
2. Tap ‘Your 2024 basket revealed’
3. Scroll down to the green section that says ‘Get my points’
4. Tap ‘Get my points’ and you should get some free Nectar points!
I got 250 points, how many did you get?
🥘 Free SimplyCook Box Worth £9.99
This is a limited time offer!
You can get a box of 4 ‘free’ recipe kits from SimplyCook, and all you need to do is cover 50p postage. What a bargain!
This offer is usually £3 for postage, but I’ve negotiated with the SimplyCook team to get you it for only 50p!
These recipe kits are fantastic. Each of the 4 kits includes 3 flavour posts which could be spice blends, marinades, rubs, pastes, dips or garnishes. You simply add these flavour pots to your fresh ingredients to create restaurant quality dishes at home.
Here’s how to get your ‘free’ recipe kit:
Tap the ‘claim your recipe kits’ button below
Choose your 4 recipes - there’s hundreds to choose from
Pay 50p postage and they’ll be delivered to your door within a few days
These SimplyCook kits are super popular because you buy your fresh ingredients at the supermarket as normal, which means you can tailor the meals to your own dietary requirements and also reduce waste.
Note: It is a subscription, but you’re in control and can manage this within your online SimplyCook account.
🧀 Did You Download Cheddar Last Week?
If so, you have 1 week left to get your £5 bonus. All you need to do is buy a gift card on the app, you’ll receive instant cashback + £5 bonus!
If you’ve not got Cheddar yet, you can read my guide about how the app works below and use code ‘CHLOEDC’ to get your £5 bonus when you join.
🛒 £5 Off £10 Shop at Lidl
You can get £5 off a £10 shop at Lidl via the Lidl Plus app.
This deal is limited to only these 12 stores (gutted it’s not in my local store!): Anglia, Berwick, Bovey Tracey, Caterham, Chessington, Connahs, Downham, Forest Gate, Heathway, Hemel Hempstead, Hoxtonm Stirchley
If one of the stores listed above is near you, then here’s how to get the deal:
Open the Lidl Plus app
On the home screen, make sure one of the stores listed above is showing there. If not, tap ‘More >’ and change your location to one of those stores above.
Go to ‘Coupons For You’ and scroll to the bottom, your £5 off £10 spend should be showing there.
Activate the coupon and scan it in store. It looks like you’ll have 7 days to use it.
🍼 £5 Off Baby Items at Boots
You can get £5 off for every £40 you spend on selected baby items at Boots with code: BABYJAN
So if you spend £40+, you’ll get £5 off. If you spend £80, you get £10 off etc.
🛍️ TopCashback Guide + £10 Bonus
If you aren’t using TopCashback, you’re probably overpaying for most of your online shopping (and missing out on a £10 welcome bonus!)
TopCashback is one of my favourite cashback apps/websites because they’ve partnered with thousands of brands so you can save money on your purchases - from groceries and hotels, to beauty products and car insurance.
To give you an example, in the last month I’ve earned this amount of cashback:
Accor hotels = £28.26, £4.32, £3.66 (3 different bookings)
JustEat = £0.59
Argos = £4.39
Boots = £0.77
Dryrobe = £4.33
My Protein = £1.70
Pandora = £0.48
In total, that’s £48.50 I’ve earned in cashback just for doing my normal online shopping and booking hotels! Sure, it’s not going to make you rich but I’d much rather have that £48 back in my pocket, especially as it only adds on 20 seconds to my shopping process.
I’ve written an article about TopCashback on my website which covers everything you need to know, how to get started using it and how you can get a £10 welcome bonus.
As always, let me know any questions you have about TopCashback - I’m here to help you.
✨ Free Colgate Total Toothpaste
You can get a free 20ml sample of Colgate Total Toothpaste delivered to your door. It’s limited to 33,000 samples so these will run out very soon! This sample size is actually great - I used my last Colgate sample on holiday as it’s perfect for hand luggage.
Here’s how to claim yours:
Tap ‘Claim your free toothpaste’ button below
Wait for the form to load at the top of the page (it takes about 10 seconds)
Complete the form and click ‘Join’ (if the red ‘Join’ button doesn’t show for you, try another browser or device)
Your freebie will arrive within 4 weeks
If you get an ‘email already exists’ error, this means you’ve claimed a Colgate freebie the last time I shared it a few months ago, so ask someone in your household to try instead with their email.
