Business class flight hack, £8 beauty box, Spotify price hike, free coffee cup

The flight hack that's going viral - have you seen it?

Business class flight hack, £8 beauty box, Spotify price hike, £7.59 Play-Doh set, free coffee cup

Hey there! Today I started my day by jumping out of a plane! I’ve always said a skydive is the one thing I’ll never do in my life, but for some reason I was feeling brave today and it was incredible (and terrifying!).

So let this be your sign to do something this month that pushes yourself out of your comfort zone. Okay, maybe not jumping out of a plane, but it could be something like finally downloading a cashback app or booking that solo trip. Let me know what you decide to do!

Now let’s go deal hunting.

Get business class flights for less

✈️ Half Price Business Class Flights

Flying business class is expensive, but there’s a way you could get your tickets for around half the price and save thousands on long haul flights.

It’s called ex-EU, where you deliberately start your long-haul flight outside of the UK and instead fly from an EU airport. Here’s an example to show you the cost difference:

28th October - 4th November
Heathrow - Bali with Qatar = £5K
Amsterdam - Bali with Qatar = £2.3K

Some price difference, eh!?

Now of course, you do need to factor in the cost and time of your flights from UK to the EU airport (called positioning flights) and a hotel either side to give yourself a buffer in case of delays. But you’ll still be saving a decent amount in many cases. We usually go to the EU city a few days before and treat it as a mini city break.

Why Is It Cheaper? There’s various reasons for this, such as taxes and the flight prices being tailored to the departing country due to competition and demand. We’ve booked this way 4 times (Etihad twice, Qatar and Singapore Airlines) and saved minimum £1.5Kpp each time including positioning flights.

Advantages: You can get much cheaper business class flights.

Disadvantages: It’s a riskier way of booking, as your positioning flights and ex-EU flights will be on separate tickets so you do need to give yourself plenty of time to allow for delays or cancellations.

Where To Start: I’ve shared more of my tips for booking your flights this way in the caption of this video (click below) including the 3 EU airports I always check first.

PS. Instagram links are a bit glitchy recently, so if the video doesn’t open just head to my IG profile and it’s the first video on the second row.

Get this beauty box for only £8

💄 £50 Worth of Beauty For Only £8

You can get April’s Glossybox beauty box filled with £50 worth of beauty products for only £8. The price should automatically reduce to £8 at the checkout, but if it doesn’t use code ‘REFRESH8’.

I love beauty boxes for trying new products at a fraction of the price, and the sizes can be great for travelling too.

Note: It is a monthly subscription, so hopefully you love the box and want to continue at £13.50/month. But you’re in control and can cancel by getting in touch with their online customer service team. You can find out more about this and the cancellation cut off dates in their FAQs.

☕️ Free Reusable Coffee Cup

Order a Grande Iced drink (excl Frappuccino blended drinks) from Starbucks on 18th and 19th April to get a free reusable cup.

If you have Starbucks Rewards, you should have received an email about this. Limited to 235K cups and available in participating stores.

Beat Spotify’s price hike

😯 Spotify Price Hike

Spotify recently announced they’re increasing prices by £1-£2 per month depending on which plan you’re on.

But you can beat the price hike if you’re on an Individual Plan by buying a Spotify gift card.

Curry’s currently has Spotify Premium Gift Cards for £99. Simply redeem the gift card in your Spotify account if you’re on the Individual Plan and the upfront payment will kick in on your next billing date. This means your monthly payments will stop temporarily and resume again after 12 months.

If you experience any issues redeeming the gift card, please contact Spotify’s customer service team for support as you may need to cancel your plan first.

🧠 Question: Would you rather…

Would you rather get £1Million today or a penny that doubles every day for 30 days?
